Cheryl is an experienced attorney and community volunteer, having done both with enthusiasm and passion for more than thirty years.  Cheryl uses her analytic skills and talents to advance the missions of the enterprises with which she affiliates, whether as a consultant or a volunteer. 

Her nonprofit experience spans from under-resourced organizations to well-funded institutions in the areas of arts and culture, children and youth, education (elementary, secondary and higher), ethics and compliance, and healthcare, including mental health.  Through those experiences, Cheryl has developed significant skills in the areas of capacity building, visioning, strategic planning, and executive search leadership. In addition, she has coached and mentored individuals for more than 25 years in such areas as career pathing, executive leadership and navigating difficult situations.

Cheryl has facilitated workshops and been a featured speaker for more than 15 years on such topics as entrepreneurship, executive leadership, discerning talents, ethics and compliance, and establishing and adhering to meaningful diversity, equity and inclusion goals.  She is excited to serve interim President and CEO with the Deaconess Foundation.  

Cheryl is fortunate to have been recognized for her leadership skills and sincere commitment to service, having been named One of the Most Influential Women by the Saint Louis Business Journal and One of the 100 Most Inspiring Saint Louisans by the NAACP, Saint Louis Chapter, receiving the Excellence in the Legal Profession Award from the National Society of Black Engineers, St. Louis Chapter, and being inducted into the Women’s Hall of Fame at Missouri University of Science & Technology.
